Find the Right Ceiling Fan with This Simple Guide

Start with 3 key checks, then explore fan recommendations by room, get help, or jump to FAQs.

3 Key Checks

  • Step 1: Measure Your Room

Measure the shorter side of the room to determine the recommended fan size.

  • Step 2: Check Your Clearance

A minimum clearance of 60cm is required from the fan blade tip to the nearest wall, beam, cabinet, or ceiling fixture.

  • Step 3: Check Ceiling Height

Choose the right fan and rod type based on your ceiling-to-floor height.

Smart Features That Fit the Way You Live

Once you have checked your room size, clearance, and ceiling height, the next step is to consider the features that make your ceiling fan easier to use every day.

For added convenience, selected models such as the Gust Ceiling Fan and Cyclone Ceiling Fan come with built-in WiFi connectivity via the Mayer Home App, allowing you to control your fan settings more easily from your device.

Designed for modern living, these WiFi-enabled ceiling fans make it simpler to manage comfort across bedrooms, living rooms, and open-concept spaces.

Gust Tip: Light or No Light? The Choice Is Yours.

Prefer the Gust Ceiling Fan without the light? Gust comes with a matching light cap, allowing you to cover the light fixture for a clean, seamless finish.

It is a practical option for rooms that already have enough lighting, while still letting you enjoy Gust’s comfort, airflow, and modern design.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size of ceiling fan do I need?

- Small rooms (up to 75 sq. ft, e.g. study or bathroom): 29–36-inch fan
- Medium rooms (76–144 sq. ft, e.g. bedroom): 42–48-inch fan
- Large rooms (145–225 sq. ft, e.g. living room): 52–60-inch fan

*The recommended blade size is subject to the layout of your home and the
placement of furnishings, such as lighting fixtures, built-in cabinets, and
wardrobes.

What's the difference between the 3-blade and 5-blade options?

3 blades: Modern, sleek design with faster airflow and superior energy efficiency. 5 blades: Classic styling with smoother, quieter airflow.

Are more blades stronger or better?

Not necessarily. 3-blade ceiling fan typically produces stronger, more direct airflow, while a 5-blade ceiling fan offers smoother, quieter, and slightly gentler airflow. The best choice comes down to your personal comfort preference and desired airflow style.

Can I change to a higher-wattage LED?

No.  The ceiling fan's LED module and printed circuit board (PCB) are designed to operate at a specific wattage. Using a higher-wattage LED may cause overheating, damage the light fitting or PCB, and could void your warranty.

Important: Always use the LED wattage and type specified by the manufacturer.

Can one remote control multiple fans?

Yes. You can pair multiple ceiling fans to a single remote control. However, all paired fans will respond to the same commands. For example, switching the fan on or off will operate all paired fans simultaneously.
